A leading business and technology learning platform needed a QuickBooks Online (QBO) course built for Canadian professionals. We developed an 11-hour, 110-module course on QBO 2024 that has since expanded beyond Canada into U.S. and international markets.
The platform asked us to develop an 11-hour, 110-module course on QuickBooks Online 2024 for Canadian professionals. The course needed to teach users how to streamline accounting tasks, work faster with shortcuts and integrate third-party apps.
We had access to QBO's Academy of Learning Accounts, which gave us the basis for case-based instruction throughout the course.
Payroll and tax are core parts of QBO, but the course could not connect to a live system to demonstrate them.
Simulating these processes without live integration meant the teaching had to be built around realistic scenarios rather than real transactions.
Course Development
We built the course around real-world case studies that visualize each workflow step by step, bridging the technical gaps left by the lack of live integration.
We designed the course objectives, which QBO approved, and paired recorded instruction with interactive "Let me try" videos so learners could apply each task as soon as they had seen it.
A complete QBO 2024 course of recorded modules, with quizzes in every module to reinforce key concepts and interactive "Let me try" videos to promote applied learning.
Strong learner feedback led the platform to expand the course into U.S. and international markets.
QBO also recognized the course for its clarity, structure and learner engagement.
